With the holiday season upon us, and Christmas right around the corner one would think that my children would be on their best behavior, but alas they just continue to be themselves. Inquisitive and curious, never ceasing in their quest for understanding everything is how my children greet each day. Often times this can be confused for misbehavior by most. For instance, Griffin recently challenged Harrison to take a sled ride down the staircase in one of their toy bins. Harrison was reluctant to participate, but sibling persuasion won him over in the end. Much to their surprise, Harrison did not enjoy his ride! (He bonked his head on the ride down.) A lively discussion ensued as we debated the tragic outcome of our experiment. Griffin lost his outdoor sledding priveledges and Harrison got a lecture on not letting others intimidate him into engaging in dangerous activities. Mommy got grounded for being "a big meanie." I gladly recused myself to my room for several deep breaths. After a few days of reflection, we all agree sledding down the hill in the backyard is a much better idea than sledding down the stairway. The hill doesn't have walls that get in the way and bonk your head.
